jailhouse rock.

The king knew it all along, that inmate fashion would someday set a tread back into mainstream society. This prison issued style indigo shirt from Obey has got you covered. The construction of this chambray work-shirt can withstand a full days load of breaking up rocks with your mining pick. Attention to detail from the off white painted buttons, slightly sanded off. To the triple stitched finish and straight tailored shirttail hemline. Simply put you'll look stunning rocking this on a regular basis. The concept of prison clothing for the public is not a fairly new idea. In 1986 the influential Rap group Run DMC would wear their white Adidas Superstars "laced-free" during concerts. They eventually were called "Felon Shoes" due to the fact that prison inmates at the time always wore their prison issued shoes "laced-free". The purpose of the "laced-free" look was to deter the inmate from using the laces as a weapon to choke or strangle and also an object to be used for attempted suicide. This reason didn't stop many consumers, giving Adidas the idea to sign Run DMC for a hefty 1 million dollars.

92' till Infinity.

Gone are the days when a dropped suspension, authentic Japanese wheels, and a few minor bolt-ons is all that took to turn heads on the street. During the early to mid 90's headlight and supra taillight conversions were the thing. With the advent of the internet in the late 90's the body kits and vinyl interiors were traded for cleaner, race ready modifications. Today's current standard of a well built Honda  has surpassed many expectations. Progression in the form of low offset wheels. Gold plated valve covers and crazy paint schemes is now the norm. The current recession has impacted the tuner industry severely. Most have abandoned their builds in order to purchase a more friendly "MPG" vehicle. The artist/builders of the past have now dissipated into import history. A prediction of the current import car scene will soon diminish. With no where to turn, "JDM" will eventually follow its Hot Rod, garage built inspired roots.
